Art Hop (Dog Hop) was a blast! It was crazy busy and people were wonderful. I really couldnt ask for a better set up than Play Dog play provides. But next year, I gotta bring lights. Can someone remind me, please?! I was a dork to not think about lighting AFTER DARK! The only negative thing is I forgot to take pictures. I charged my battery and packed my camera but I didnt take a single picture. But check out Play Dog Play's facebook page by clicking here; they have a couple cute pics. Masha is so good about that!
Shelburne Museum Goes to the Dogs was AMAZING! This was my first year doing it. I think at last count about 1,000 dogs attended. Can you imagine?! It was wonderful. It was hours upon hours of friendly people with their sweet dogs walking by my booth. The wind scared me a little. I set up my tent using three sides for the first time and I felt like it was going to get sucked up in the air the entire time. But at the end of the day when I went to remove the stakes, they were still tightly impacted and hadnt budged at all. Good to know for next year so I can stress a little less. It was like a wind tunnel! But still a really great day. My wonderful Mother came with me and she took all the pics. I will post some images when i get my hands on her camera.
My next event will be WOOFSTOCK 2010! This event is organized and benefits the Addison County Humane Society. It will take place in Recreation Park in Middlebury this year on October 2nd from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Check out their site for more info! My dear friend Georgia will be joining me so Im even more excited! not only is she a blas but this means yummy food and possibly some hearty drinks will follow the fall outdoor show. Couldnt ask for a better day.
I know, a spot without pictures is so boring. Please accept my apologies but check my blog out again soon as I promise more news and pictures to come!

See you tonight?
Stop by Play Dog Play tonight after 6 pm to enjoy live music and fun artwork while partaking in some wine and cheese. The weather looks great and I am so excited. I will post pics of all of this weekends event next week but for now, take a look at some recent happenings:

This is a sign I made at the request of the HSCC a couple years ago. They use it at their big June walk every year to help direct the people/dog traffic around certain areas of Burlington. This year it happened to be placed near the police station. Kinda funny. Im easily amused it if you hadnt guessed.

This was one of the many visitors I had back at the June walk. Gorgeous, right? I wish I could share ALL the pics from that day.

I have a ton of pics of this guy. And by 'this guy' I mean the handsome four legged guy with the beautiful white coat. He was a charmer. I watched him go all over the park charming all the ladies. In this pic can you see what he has his eye on? Yup, a big bowl of trweats. He is just waiting for the go ahead. What a good boy.

Here is a commissioned piece for a returning client. This is the white charcoal stage. Sorry for the bad pic. I suck at digital photograpthy. It didnt help that this was taken around midnight ina room with terrible lighting. yes! Thats it! It was the lighting that caused the bad pic. *ahem*

The almost finished piece. Again, bad pic but I like how it turned out. It was a very thughtful, well planned surprise gift for a husband to give his wife. So sweet.
Ok, off to the Art Hop. Say hi if you are in the area!

So much going on! Come say hello!
It has been so long since I posted on here that I forgot my password. Once I was finally able to sign in, I discovered Blogger is now requiring everyone to use their ftp migration tool. What this means is I am very quickly trying to update my blog and make sure everyone can find it asap! I guess if you are reading this, I have succeeded. *fingers crossed* Now on to the news...
I will be at Play Dog Play on Pine Street tonight for Art Hop. Last year I was the solo artists and it was a blast but EXHAUSTING! I am happy to hear that this year there will be a couple artists showing there as well as the Humane Society's children's art auction. I have lots of new stuff. I will try to post some pictures later today before I head out to set up. I will be at PDP tonight until 10ish and tomorrow 10-5. But thats not all...
Sunday I will be at the Shelburne Museum Goes to the Dogs event. A couple people have tried to get me to do this event in the past but it just hasnt worked out for me but this year I made a point to save the date. I hear only great things about this event so I am excited. I will be one tired chica come Sunday night but I think it will be worth it. I think the event runs from 10-4 on Sunday but you might want to check out there web page for details.
I have a number of other events coming up and I will post more soon, I promise. Thank you everyone that has emailed lately. You are my best motivation! The thing about a blog is EVERYONE knows when you have been slacking. Ok, back to seeing if I can actually make this blog visible...

Where the hell have I been?
The answer to that question is too much to even get into. At least right now. But in an effort to get back into the swing of things i thought instead of surfing the internet, I should post something. Anything! Although I cleaned out many of my large pieces, I never really got to cleaning so that is what this weekend is supposed to be about. Supposed to be as in that is my current intention. I am trying... :)
I have been short on ideas lately. Tonight will be a night of sketching. I have an event coming up in early March and I need to get my $*&! together. The event is called the beCAUSE Art Show and the idea of this event is for vendors to donate a large (if not all) of their profits to a charity of their choice. Shoppers get to see some unique work form people of all ages and styles in a non-holiday setting (aka: no crushing crowds!). And a large portion of what shoppers spend goes to charity. Not bad, eh? I will post more about this event as it approaches. I have been a shopper at the event for the past two or three years and last year it was just amazing. I look forward to being on the other side of the table this year.
And finally for today....
here is another piece up for grabs at a bargain price. I like this piece a lot and I have held onto it intentionally, however, it does not go well with the palette of my other pieces and the pieces I will be working on for the upcoming months. So I thought I would try to find it a good home. I get some space in my studio and the pieces of mind that it is being looked at instead of in storage while hopefully someone out there gets a very affordable piece of original art!
Here is 'Go for a Walk?':

This piece is 18" x 36" and on gallery wrapped canvas and is ready to hang! Originally priced at $80; it is now on sale for $40! Drop me an email at yellowdogart@aol.com if you are interested.
I know I have been out of the loop for a while now so please feel free to drop me a quick hello email as well. I miss chatting with everyone but look ofrward to seeing you at events as the weather gets warmer. It will get warmer again, right?

CLEARING HOUSE!
So the holiday shows are over and I have packed and unpacked my truck several times lately. And I have several large pieces that I would love to find new homes for. I do not want to store any large canvases! I want to clear out some space and motivate myself to create some very new pieces. Soooo...lets help each other, shall we?!?! I want to make my affordable art even MORE AFFORDABLE and in return, I get some space in my downstairs studio. Ahhh....space....yummy yummy space...something an artist always needs more of.
And the final holiday bargain: TULIP FIELD
The pieces below are for sale for new super low prices...pretty much the cost of the canvases. So get someone the gift of art for the holidays or even just treat yourself! It will be first come, first serve so drop me an email (yellowdogart@aol.com) quick if you have any questions. These are large pieces and shipping would be ~$150; I will ship if necessary but I am really hoping for pick up/local delivery only.
This piece was originally $300. It is now on sale for $75. It is 36"x48". This was one of my favorites so I want it to find a good home.
Next up: FRISBEE?
This piece was originally $250 but is now also on sale for $75! This piece was done on a very cool 36"x36" square canvas. The square canvases are a little more expensive but I love the look of them.
This piece is also a cool 36"x36" square canvas and was intentionally made as a great match with FRISBEE? up above. It was also originally $250 and is now on sale for $75!
And the final holiday bargain: TULIP FIELD
This piece is 36"x48" with GORGEOUS COLORS! It was originally $250 but is now on sale for $50! Yup, $50. I got the canvas on sale so it is even cheaper for you.
All pieces are on gallery wrapped canvas and ready to hang.
So if you are interested in any of these pieces drop me an email at yellowdogart@aol.com and lets chat!
I have seen other artists offer to make trades for art when really trying to open up studio space so I am willing to try that here. I have to admit, I am pretty picky about trades because I am really looking to free up space in my home and studios so please dont be offended if I am not open to all offers! But it is the holidays and I an open to giving it a try!

I LOVE THIS WEATHER
OK, I really gotta go paint and I have one unbelievably exhausted dog so this is going to be quick. It was gorgeous out today! Chilly but beautiful. It is November for crying out loud and so far I have to fall on my ass due to a stray ice patch. *knock on wood*

The front tip of my poor dirty neglected kayak. It is November and I vow to change that.
Look at the pretty pretty water. ..

And the pretty pretty shoreline? Kind of gray at this point. But still....
In a little over a week I will be at the UVM Holiday sale. When not painting and the weather forces me inside, I still need to stay sane and busy so I work on other projects. Well, I used to. All of those other little goodies that most of you look for at the UVM sale will be on sale--as in cheap! I need to clean out some of my stock so I can move on to other things.

Where and when to get your holiday goodies
It has been so long since I posted on here that I forgot my username! Terrible *shamed shake of head* Things have been crazy. I will spare you all. And by 'you all' I mean the few people that might still be checking in here since I became a huge blogging slacker.
I have lots of new goodies so although I am only doing two shows this holiday season, I hope you can stop by and say hello. My first show will be at the UVM Holiday Show on December 3rd in the Davis Center. Tell everyone you know! There are lots of cool goodies and very nice people but almost NO advertising. Take advantage of this. Have a casual look at lots of good stuff without the holiday crowds and then even hit some UVM stores in the DC while you are there.
My second show is a new show that I am very excited to be part of. I will post more info when I know but for now I can tell you that it will be for pet lovers, for those that want cool original gift ideas for pet lovers and those that just want to help support the homeless animals in the area. It will be at Play Dog Play on Pine Street on Saturday, December 12th. There will be amazing items on display (and sale!) as well as official pet portraits being taken right there on site.
I will have new items at each show so stop by, say hello and meet some of my friends. Check back soon for some pictures of my newest pieces as well as more info on the upcoming events and even where to find some of these new things out around the area.
